Integrated Assessment and Patterning

Our integrated assessments are full body movement screens, designed to reduced discomfort, improve mobility, increase performance, and help reduce the risk of injury.

What is an Integrated Assessment?

Our Integrated assessment is a movement screen that identifies areas where you may lack control, mobility, or have discomfort. We start by having you perform specific full body movements, looking for areas of poor control or motion. We then break these movements down to isolate the upper limb, spine, and lower limb to determine what areas need improvement. Depending on what is found during the assessment, we will then move to prescribing patterning exercises that will first help to increase mobility, competency, and capacity of the affected joints in the upper limb, lower limb, and spine. We will then progress you to more complex and full body exercises to ensure each of these three areas can work together.

Is it Right For Me?

Repeatedly performing the same movements with poor technique can often lead to overuse injuries and eventually chronic pain if not addressed properly. Our Integrated Assessment allows us to identify the reasons as to why your movement pattern may be causing you discomfort and retrain these areas so that you can move properly, reduce internal stress, and decrease pain.

Do I need to be in pain to book an Integrated Assessment? NO! This type of assessment was designed to identify and address areas of the body that may be over or under utilized during movement. Remember, just because you can do something, does not always mean you should. This tool is great for the individual who is looking to improve mobility, reduce the risk of injury, and potentially improve overall athletic performance.

More Information

The initial Integrated Assessment and Patterning visit is typically 90mins in length, we encourage people to wear comfortable clothing and be ready to move around!

Modalities

At Define Wellness, we believe in offering a comprehensive approach to pain relief and wellness that goes beyond the traditional model of chiropractic care. That’s why we’re proud to offer a range of modalities designed to enhance your healing experience.

Low Level Laser Therapy (LLLT)

Utilizes low-intensity laser light to stimulate cellular function and promote healing in targeted areas of the body. By penetrating the skin, the laser will interact with cells to enhance biochemical processes, reducing inflammation. LLLT is non-invasive and painless, making it suitable for treating a variety of musculoskeletal conditions, including joint pain, disc pain, muscle strains, and chronic injuries.

Ultrasound

Therapeutic ultrasound therapy involves the use of high-frequency sound waves to penetrate deep into tissues, muscles, tendons, and ligaments. This therapy can help reduce pain, inflammation, and muscle spasms while promoting tissue healing and repair. Ultrasound therapy is often used as a non-invasive treatment option for swelling and conditions such as tendonitis, sprains, strains, and bursitis.

IFC

An IFC (interferential current) device delivers small electrical impulses to specific areas of the body via electrodes placed on the skin. These impulses help to alleviate pain by blocking or interfering with pain signals sent to the brain, essentially acting as a non-invasive pain management tool. IFC is commonly used to relieve acute and chronic conditions, such as muscle pain, arthritis, and nerve-related pain.

Normatec

Warm up and recover like never before, Normatec uses dynamic air compression to replicate the natural muscle pumps and one way valves of the legs. This helps to improve circulation, promote muscle healing, and reduce swelling. Allowing you to recover faster, improve training, and maximize performance.

Custom Orthotics

Devices designed to help you move and feel better

Custom Orthotics

An orthotic is a device designed to place your foot and ankle into the most anatomically efficient position. They look like insoles and are custom made to correct your specific imbalances and misalignments, which can contribute to various issues such as foot, knee, hip, and even back pain. So much of our bodies dysfunction can be traced back to our feet and how we walk. By providing support and stability, these custom devices help distribute pressure more evenly across the foot, reducing strain on muscles and joints.
